St. Thomas Women's Guild
The St. Thomas Catholic Women's Guild seeks to educate, empower and support Catholic women in spiritual growth, leadership and service. We respond with gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.
Membership is offered to every Christian woman. Each member is asked to pay annual dues of $15.00, which offset administrative costs, as we support our church and local charities.
We now meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 9AM in the Parish Family Life Center, Deacon Jose Rivera Room. E-mail Faye Polhamus, Membership at email@example.com for additional information. To download a brochure, click here.
All members have the opportunity to participate in various fundraisers and events throughout the year. The Catholic Women’s Guild is a member of the National Council of Catholic Women, Knoxville Diocese, www.kdccw.org and the Cumberland Mountain Deanery Council of Catholic Women.
Building a Culture of Life in the Knoxville Diocese Every two years, the Cumberland Mountain Deanery CCW in the Knoxville Diocese adopts a deanery-wide project. For 2016 & 2017, St. Thomas proposed the project – Building a Culture of Life in the Knoxville Diocese which was voted on and accepted. To download the proposal, click here. We propose building a culture of life in the Knoxville Diocese through prayer, education, volunteerism, witness, and monetary support. We urge all members to maintain a respect for life as a core value in all that we do at home, at work, and in our religious and social life. We propose to support three agencies in particular - Rachel's Vineyard, the Diocesan 40 Days for Life, and Knoxville Right to Life. Each of these agencies targets a different area of the culture of life.
End Persecution of Christians in the Middle East
Each year the St. Thomas Catholic Women’s Guild adopts a project. This year our project is aligned with the NCCW project to End Persecution of Christians in the Middle East. To download the project, click here. Initially we propose daily recitation of the Angelus Prayer for the intention of bringing an end to the persecution of Christians in the Middle East, especially Iraq and Syria, by invoking the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother, Mary.
