Administration Facilities

St. Thomas is blessed with an army of dedicated volunteers who maintain everything from cleaning windows to mowing to the many maintenance needs of the facilities. The group is made up of several teams. Each team has a lead coordinator who organizes the volunteers into crews and schedules the assignments as needed.

Gardens

Our parish gardens are in full bloom in spring and summer, but their beauty can also be witnessed in the fall and yes, even in winter. Learn from the way the wild flower grows.. I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. (Matthew 6:28-29)

Irrigation

The Irrigation Ministry is responsible for the proper operation and maintenace of the 22 zone sprinkler system watering the lawns and gardens of the St. Thomas parish.

Responsibilities include: system start-up in the spring, replacement of damaged or malfunctioning sprinkler heads, the repair of leaks, adjustment of spray patterns, setting the watering schedule and assisting in the winterization of the system in the fall.

Plumbing

We are part of the administration of the St. Thomas campus. Our scope is everything related to indoor plumbing which includes the kitchens, restrooms, fire protection, the baptismal font, with all supporting piping, heaters and controls. Because of the nature of our responsibilites, we have no need for meetings. Our service is more of an on-call ministry.

Our volunteers have enough experience to bring a problem under control and decide the proper course of action.

Campus Grounds

The Campus Grounds or Mowing Committee is responsible for mowing the many areas of grass surrounding all of our buildings. They are organized into several teams who operate the various mowers, trimmers, and blowers that we maintain to keep our grounds looking so beautiful.

Custodial/Housekeeping

The Custodial/Housekeeping Group is responsible for the general cleaning of our facilities; Church, PFLC and offices. The duties include; cleaning floors, dusting all surfaces, cleaning windows, cleaning and refilling supplies for all restrooms and other cleaning projects such as shampooing carpets and setting up for meetings and events. Volunteers come and clean when they can. We are attempting to develop teams that will work together to clean a specific area on a scheduled basis.

We really need additional men to operate the scrubber and buffer we use to clean the hard surface floors.

If you are interested in helping with these activities please contact Bill Twohig.

HVAC

Our HVAC Ministry manages our facilities temperature at a comfortable level while also minimizing our energy cost. They accomplish this important service by setting the many thermostats throughout the complex to appropriate levels for the changing seasons. In addition they conduct bi-monthly inspections of the 24 HVAC units and changing belts and filters as required.
