Tom Ringenbach   -   Board Member

Tom has been a resident of Tellico Village and member of St. Thomas the Apostle parish since August 2007.

He retired from American Electric Power Company in April, 2007, with 29 years of service.  AEP is a large electric utility holding company.  Most of his career was spent in the Regulatory function, developing, filing, and managing the company’s various filings with state and federal regulatory commissions.  His position at the time of his retirement was Director, Rate Case Management.  He managed and provided strategic guidance for approximately eight direct reports, who in turn were responsible for compiling and managing the Company’s regulatory filings with any of eleven state regulatory commissions (where AEP had service territory) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Since joining St. Thomas, he has been steadily building upon his contributions to the St. Thomas parish community.  He served as a Lector up until very recently, when he decided to resign that ministry to focus my efforts in other areas in the parish.  Earlier this year, he served on the planning committee and as facilitator for the Spring parish retreat.  Currently, he is completing the required 50 hour training program to become a Stephen Minister.

Tom earned a Bachelors degree in Economics from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and a Master of Arts degree from Indiana University, also in Economics.

Tom has been married to his wife, Mamie for 32 years. They have four grown children (and are still awaiting their first grandchild!).

Since moving to this area, he has enjoyed fishing, golf, hiking, woodworking, and playing cards, and using the TV Wellness Center exercise facilities.  He is currently teaching a course in Macroeconomics as a member of the Adjunct faculty at Roane State Community College.  Finally, he is also currently serving as vice-chair of the TV Woodworkers Toys-for-Tots annual toy-making and collection drive.
