Sarah Grimes

Sarah Grimes   -   Parish & Family Life Co-Chair

Sarah serves as co-chair of the Parish & Family Life Commission on the Parish Pastoral Council.

Sarah's role in the Parish and Family Life Commission is to further build the parish life at St. Thomas the Apostle, through projects to enhance participation and gratifications; be proactive to assist all Parish committees and sub-committees with their endeavors; promote fellowship and hospitality through organized groups and social activities; promote the Church’s mission and goals through the Parish and Family members; be energetic and imaginative to foster a helpful feeling to those in need; assist in the development of future Parish Council members and display harmony amongst members and continue to build upon the Parish Community.

She oversees the following ministries that support this effort:  Marriage Encounter; Knights of Columbus; Women’s Guild; Young Adults; Singles Group; Sunday Hospitality, Special Events and Funeral Luncheons.  The areas addressed in the ministries are fluid and change regularly, depending on the interests, needs, and demands of the parish.

Sarah has been attending St. Thomas since 1993 when she moved to Tennessee with her parents before the start of her senior year of high school.

She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Bariatric Nurse working with New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery where she has been for the last seven years.

In 2000, she married Bryson Grimes and has two daughters MaryAnn and Demaris. As a young Catholic, Sarah felt very much unprepared to face a world and people that she felt she needed to defend her faith to.  She feels that educating young children and especially youth is the foundation of the church.  Sarah has worked with the youth group since its inception, teaching the post confirmation class.

Sarah hopes to live and share her faith according to St. Francis of Assisi's quote, "Preach the gospel at all times. When necessary use words."
