Cormac O'Duffy

Cormac O'Duffy   -   Director of Music Ministries

Cormac was recently appointed Director of Music Ministries at St. Thomas. He and his wife Fiona and their children are among the newest members of our parish family.

 

 

Cormac was born in New Jersey of Irish parents and his father Michael O'Duffy was an Irish tenor who was well known in the U.S. as Ireland's Ambassador of Song.

Fiona was born in London of mixed Scots, English and Irish backgrounds.

Cormac moved back to Ireland as a child and spent his life there, in the United Kingdom and for a short period in New Zealand. He and his wife and four children have now lived back in the land of his birth for over three years, a time mostly spent in Florida.

All his family love the United States and especially Tennessee!

Cormac and Fiona are excited by the wonderful Christian atmosphere in St. Thomas and all the wonderful English and Spanish ministries at work there and feel privileged to help the parish grow in music and worship.

Fiona and Cormac love the Alpha program which has been used in the parish and have experienced it in the London church where it began and in other UK and Irish churches.

They look forward to introducing some the beautiful hymns which are loved across the pond to the family at St. Thomas as well as taking the English and Spanish choirs on some musical adventures with new music as well as singing Hymns of Praise with Christians of other denominations.

Nothing is impossible for as scripture says:

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3.20-1
