St. Thomas Stewardship Appeal for 2018-Letter from Fr. Doug

Dear St. Thomas Parish Family,

I am thankful and blessed to be a part of this generous, vibrant, and energetic parish. Once again the  generous outpouring of your love, time, talent, and treasure over this past year has been both edifying and energizing. We have seen great changes in our campus and programs as a result of your generosity!

I invite you once again to participate in our annual Parish Stewardship renewal.  This appeal supports our parish operations. The Home Campaign appeal and Bishop’s appeal which you have generously supported do not support our day to day operations. It is through your support that all of our vital ministries are able to be funded. During this time, we are reminded that all of creation is a gift to us from a very loving God.  And, in turn, we are called to be responsible and grateful stewards of the gifts that God has entrusted to us.

Scripture tells us, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10).  By sharing our gifts of time, talent, and treasure, we enhance the ministries that are offered at our parish; we reach out in love to others who are in great need; and we personally draw closer to our Lord.

The weekend of October 28 and 29 will be our annual Parish Stewardship weekend where we will recommit ourselves to support the work of our Church.  I invite you to pray and discern what you value most and how your giving reflects your gratitude for God's blessings. I ask that you complete the Stewardship form and return it by October 29 through the offertory basket or in the mail.  Forms will be in bulletins on October 21 and 22 or you may download one by clicking here.

Thank you for taking a moment to read this letter and consider making a sacrificial commitment.

I hope you will find true peace and great joy in making this commitment to our parish community.

In Christ through Mary,

 Fr. Doug Owens, Pastor
