Deacon John was born and raised in York and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1983 and married his wife Theresa in June of that year.
John and Theresa were foster parents and over the years were blessed to touch the lives of approximately 80 children. They eventually pursued adoption and John and Theresa have adopted 5 children including; Megan - 28 years old living in Iowa, Joshua - 25 years old living in New Mexico, and currently living with them Jordan - 21 years old, Emily -17 years old, and a grandson Jaiden - 7 years old.
After serving in the Navy for five years, John worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and also the Savannah River Plant.
John was ordained in 2011 as a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
John and Theresa moved to Tennessee in February where he is employed at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge.
